In 2026, the Regional Museum in Mikulov is celebrating one hundred years of being open to the public.
The museum was founded in 1926 on the initiative of prominent citizens of Mikulov who recognized the importance of preserving the history not only of the town but also of the entire region. Further generations of devoted people committed to this idea continued their work, for decades seeking to fulfil a single goal: building a place where the history of the Mikulov region, its inhabitants, and its tangible heritage would be preserved.
Through the exhibition “Stirring Up Dust” the Regional Museum in Mikulov aims to present to visitors the very essence of its existence and the purpose of museum activities, and how museum employees have approached, and continue to approach, this task over the past century.
The exhibition is suitable for families with children; it includes an educational room for children of all ages.
The exhibition is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
