Visitors to the “Traditional Winemaking in Moravia” exhibition will learn about how grapes were grown and wine was made and sold from the earliest historical mentions to the early 20th century. Castle Library

Guided tours
30 minutes

The Castle Library is one of the most significant parts of Mikulov Castle not destroyed by the fire of 1945. Apart from minor changes, it has retained its 18th-century appearance. Its originally extensive collection of books was looted by the Swedes in 1645. The core of the library’s collection is made up of family libraries that other Dietrichsteins acquired through purchases or inherited. Today, the original Baroque cabinets hold more than 11,000 books from the Dietrichstein library and other volumes originally held in the libraries of other South Moravian noble families. The exhibition may be visited only as part of a guided tour. See the tour schedule available at the museum cash desk.
